GPX files

Into Lank Combe

A zip file containing the individual GPX files for the main walks can be downloaded below.  The files were checked or updated as at January 2023, using the new numbering.  If the walk description has a date later than this (it will be on the last page, 'last recce [date]'), please check the GPX file against the map in the route description.  GPX files are updated as a batch, and changes may have been made to the route that are not reflected in the GPX file.

A few GPS files cover two walks, where the walks connect as a pair to make a single large circuit.

Before downloading:

►  Please note that the files are generated from Tracklogs software using 1:25,000 maps.  This means that they won't follow the route exactly on the ground, but they should give you a rough idea of whether you are in the right place.

►  Set your GPS device to Ordnance Survey Great Britain or OSGB36 datum, and British National Grid co-ordinates. If you use one of the other popular settings such as WGS84 or ED50 the routes will be less accurate.

►  Note that there are many places on Exmoor and the Quantocks where there is no GPS signal, particularly in dense woodland and deep combes.

►  Never rely on GPS alone as a method of navigation – always carry the walk description and map.

Downloading the files means you have read and understood the above.
